Hazardous chemical agents may occur as dusts, fumes, vapours, gases, mists or other airborne contaminants and may present a risk to employees through inhalation, skin contact or other routes of exposure.

Monitoring in the regulatory framework
The Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Agents distinguish between risk assessment, exposure monitoring, medical surveillance and information and training. Our surveys provide representative air monitoring and evaluation of exposure results.
Lead and asbestos are regulated separately and are therefore addressed under their respective regulations.

Regulatory framework
Surveys are conducted with reference to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Agents, 2021 and recognised occupational hygiene sampling and analytical methods.
